Abstract of Title of Mr Jno Winterbottom of premises Situate at Holes within Saddleworth in the County of York

1 & 2 Days of December 1801 Indentures of Lease & Release of those Dates and Made Between Robert Winterbottom of Green Lane within the parish of Saddleworth in the County of York Clothier of the one part and John Winterbottom of Lees within the parish of Ashton under Line in the County of Lancaster Clothier Elder Son and Heir Apparent of the said Robt Winterbottom of the other part

After reciting as therein is recited It is by the said Indenture of Release Witnessed that the said Robert Winterbottom for the Natural love and Affection which he had Aul bore to the said John Winterbottom his Son & for the consideration therein Mentioned He the said Robt Winterbottom Did Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release & Conferring unto the said Jno Winterbottom in his Actual possession by Virtue of a Bargain & Sale to him thereofmade & to his Heirs & Assigns.

All that one undivided third part or Share, the whole into three equal parts or Shares to be divided of in and to All that plot piece or parcel of land or ground Situate lying and being near Green lane in Saddleworth aforesaid and called or known by the Name of the Holes Containing by Admeasurement One Acre three roods and thirty Six perches of land or Ground or thereabouts be the same moreover as the same was then fenced out of and from the Remainder of a Certain Close of Land there called or Known by the Name of the Holes Field. And Also one undivided third part or Share, the whole in three Equal parts or Shares to be divided of in and to All that large Building or Water Mill lately Erected and Built there by the said Robt Winterbottom upon part of the said plot piece or parcel of land or Ground & of the Weir Goits Dam Reservoir For Water Feeders or Shuttles Stone and other Buildings And Appurtenances to the said plot piece or parcel of Land or Ground & Water Mill belonging or in anywise Appertaining all which said premises were there in the Occupation or possession of the said Robt Winterbottom

And All Deeds Viz

To hold the said undivided third part or Share of the said plot piece or parcel of land or Ground large Building or Water Mill Weir Goit Dam or Reservoir for Water Feeders or Shuttles Stone or other buildings & erects And All and Singular other the premises therein before Mentioned and intended to be thereby Granted and Released with their and every of their Appurtenances unto the said John Winterbottom his Heirs & Assigns For the only proper use and behoof of the said John Winterbottom his Heirs & Assigns forever and to and for no other use Trust intent or purpose whatsoever

Subject Nevertheless to the payment unto Radcliffe Sidebottom Esq. of one third part of the yearly rent of £2~10s payable by the said Robt Winterbottom for the liberty of putting the Tail Goit of the Water Mill unto a Certain Close of Land belonging to the said Radcliffe Sidebottom
